ABOUT the artist

Jeanne Rungby

is a recognized danish painter, who has numerous exhibitions behind her in Copenhagen and Sealand, Denmark.

Her main profession though is phycisian, Md. Ear-, nose- and throat surgeon.

As a young woman her first priority was to be an artist. But later she caught interrest for human health and surgery. So she ended up as a medical doctor instead. The art became a freetime enjoyment.

She had several masters, among those Mette Lorentzen, Daniel Heugas, Else Haakonsen and Jesper Christiansen.

She participated in several courses on artscools such as Holbæk, Kunstvaerket and Engelsholm in Denmark.

The motives are preferably abstract, but with a figurative stroke. Often you can see creatures, faces and masks when looking closely or in the twilight.

The masks represent the human attempt to adapt for the sake of inclusion and acceptance. Sometimes an strenous price to pay. and sooner or later the facade will always crack and the true faces will show.
